To have eco-friendly & natural treatment, this plant is designed based on the biological treatment concept. To achieve this concept, plant has certain unit operation & process such as:- - Collection or Equalization: The domestic sewage generated from the residential area is collected in equalization tank after passing through screen and oil & grease chamber. From this tank sewage will be pumped to SBR Reactors by means of sewage lifting pumps. - Biological Treatment Section: - SBR Reactor: This is the main section of the plant where degradation of organic pollutants (BOD/COD) with help of aerobic micro-organism takes place. To maintain the aerobic condition in the Bio reactor and to supply required oxygen to micro –organisms, air supply arrangement is provided by means of Aeration equipment which has very high oxygen transfer efficiency. - The way the SBR combines the filling, aeration, settling out-all in one tank. This is typically about 4 to 5 cycles in a day. Also minimum two tanks are needed, so that when one tank is in filling and aeration mode another tank goes into settling and filling mode for next batch. Typically requires instrumentation to control the airflow during aeration because as the BOD goes down, oxygen need ad air need go down, thus making it dependant on skilled PLC control. The sequencing batch reactor is a fill and draw type reactor system involving a single complete mix reactor in which all steps of the activated sludge process occur. 1. Fill 2. React (Aeration) 3. Sedimentation / Clarification 4. Draw (Decant) 5. Idle Mixed liquor remains in the reactor during all cycles, thereby eliminating the need for separate secondary sedimentation tanks. A unique feature of the sequencing batch reactor system is that there is no need for a return activated sludge. - Disinfection: On line dosing of hypo chlorite solution will be done to disinfect the harmful bacteria in the treated water as well as to remove the refractory organics from treated water. - Tertiary Filtration & Polishing Treatment Decanted clear water, to meet the Irrigation water quality requirements, treated water will be further polished in the Sand media filter followed by activated carbon filter. This is called the tertiary treatment. - Sludge Disposal System - Sludge generated from the Biological treatment will be pumped to the Filter Press . Dried sludge will be removed periodically & disposed off suitably by client. - Backwashed water from sand & activated carbon filters will return back to equalization / collection tank.
